We read a story called, "A turkey for Thanksgiving." It was about a moose who catches a turkey for thanksgiving and the turkey is scared that he is going to eat him. We then wrote a story trying to convince people to not eat turkey for Thanksgiving. We made this cute turkey to remind us to not eat turkey. It's feathers showed us the parts of a paragraph and the best order to put them in. The sign was different for everybody. Mine said, "Don't eat turkey: Eat persimmons!" It was a cool way to practice writing paragraphs. By: Puppy

My teacher for Halloween
We did a fun activity about what our teacher would be for Halloween. She gave us a paper with a picture of her head. We had to draw what we thought she would be for Halloween and write a story about her. I made her look like a witch. It was a really fun activity.
None of us got the answer correct. My teacher went as a green dinosaur for Halloween!

Quotations

We learned about Quotations. So quotations are when a character is talking. You have to use punctuation to show that a character is talking. We practiced by using candy corn or mike and ikes for the quotation marks. It helped us remember where they go and how we should use them in our sentences. We also got to eat some when we were done! I had to add lots of details and explain what happened step by step. We then made a Haunted House that flipped up and showed what our story said. I drew the witch, mummy and skeleton in my house. It was a cool project to do for Halloween. By: Bunny

Teddy Bear Baptism
Today we had a baptism for our stuffed animals. We learned how a priest baptizes people. Father Angelo helped us. This morning we brought a stuffed animal or bear to school. We made candles using a toilet paper roll. We glued paper to it and put a yellow napkin inside like a flame. We also made a gown for the teddy. During a Baptism, you have to white to show that you are being cleaned of Original Sin. Our bears got to wear white! We drew crosses on them.
Then we walked over to the church to baptize our bear. We took a picture of all of us and our bears. Then Father Angelo had us sit around him and he explained how children or adults get baptized.
He told us that baptism makes us a member of the church and one of God's children. Then he showed us the holy oil. It's called chrism, but we didn't get to smell it like the teachers did. They said it smelled sweet and beautiful. Then he explained about the candle and how it reminds us of God's
light. We showed him our candles!
Finally, he let us baptize our stuffed animals and bears.
We put some holy water on their heads and made the sign of the cross and it was a really cool and fun to learn about the special sacrament. We loved it so much! Afterwards Father Angelo came to our classroom and we showed him our baptism books. Our mommies and daddies made us books about us getting baptized. They are so special. We shared them with Father Angelo and we showed all our friends. It was a really fun day! By: Panda, Moose and T-rex
